Teacher's Ag Seminar is an agriculture educational program sponsored by the Kern County Farm Bureau for teachers in grades K-12. Teacher's Ag Seminar is designed to provide a means for teachers to incorporate agriculture into the classroom curriculum during the school year by way of a close-up look at farming and ranching through hands-on experiences.

Teachers who attend the three-day seminar are treated to lively discussions and presentations about a variety of farm topics. Visits to local farms and processing facilities for special tours of top-quality agricultural enterprises are also in the lesson plans! A major treat during the seminar is when teachers get to spend a half-day on a farm or ranch immersed in a one-on-one experience. Click this link for a sample agenda!

The next seminar will take place July 28th through July 30th 2008 and interested teachers should contact Rebecca Been, TAS Coordinator at (661) 444-5375. You can also view last year's application HERE, just to get more information (The application is in .pdf format).
